Dandini is an iOS app developed by Arda Erem Karagöz (AEK Studio) ("we", "data controller"). This policy explains what personal data we process, why, how we use artificial intelligence, and your rights. By using the app you accept this policy.
In short
- No account. Using Dandini requires no email, password, or social login. The app runs under an anonymous identifier (a random number) on the server.
- We don't track you (today). As of now we use no third-party analytics/tracking tools, advertising identifier (IDFA), or ad networks; notifications run only on your device. If we later add limited analytics, we'll update this policy first.
- We don't sell your data and don't use it for advertising.
- We don't use it to train AI. The information you enter and the stories generated are not used to train any AI model.
Data we process
Information a parent enters to personalize stories:
- Child profile: name, date of birth (to determine the age band), gender, interests and favorite themes.
- Notes about the child: optional short notes the parent enters (e.g. "afraid of the dark") and family members to feature in stories (name and relationship).
- Usage content: generated stories, saved sound mixes, and app preferences.
- Technical/functional: an anonymous user number and last-seen time (for content repair).
- Purchase status: subscription and credit info. Your payment/card details never reach us; they are handled by Apple and RevenueCat.
Data we do not collect
We do not collect address, precise location, school, phone number, email, or password, nor do we send these to AI. We currently use no third-party analytics/tracking tools, advertising identifier, or remote push notifications. If we later add limited analytics or crash-reporting tools to improve the product, we will disclose it in this policy and obtain any required permissions.
How we use data
We process data solely to provide the service: to generate your child's personalized story, narrate it, store your library, and manage your subscription. Our legal basis is the performance of our agreement with you and — for children's data — your explicit consent.
AI and sub-processors
When a story is generated, the child's name, age, gender, interests, your notes, and family members' names are sent to AI providers to create a personalized story:
- Supabase — server infrastructure, database and storage (hosting: EU).
- OpenRouter / Google (Gemini) — story-text generation and safety review.
- Replicate — story illustrations and narration (text-to-speech).
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management.
- Apple / App Store — app distribution and payment.
Only the minimum data needed to run the service is sent to these providers. This data is not used to train any AI model. Some providers may process your data outside Türkiye/the EU (e.g. the USA); we carry out this transfer to provide the service and on the basis of your explicit consent.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as you use the app. You can partially delete content in-app (stories, notes, child profile). To have all your data permanently deleted, email [email protected]; we act on your request within a reasonable time.
Children's privacy
Dandini is designed for parents. An adult over 18 sets up and manages the app; a parent/guardian, not the child, enters the child's information. We process this data only to personalize content, based on parental consent. We do not collect data directly from children. If you believe we processed a child's data without your consent, contact us and we'll remove it. (We observe the children's-data provisions of KVKK, GDPR and COPPA.)
Your rights
Under applicable law (KVKK art. 11 / GDPR) you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, and withdraw consent for your data. To exercise these rights, contact [email protected].
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, row-level data isolation). No system is 100% secure, but we make commercially reasonable efforts to protect your data.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll announce material changes via the app or site; the latest version is always on this page.
